  • ARTISTIC SWIMMING

    In SWIMLAND's artistic swimming program, students will develop the essential skills of artistic swimming and gymnastics such as reflexes, flexibility,
    stamina, strength and choreography.

     

    Purpose

    Artistic swimming is a sport that helps with children's physical development in a multitude of different areas, from upper and lower body strength to coordination, while also fostering a sense of creativity and beauty.

     

    Level

    A useful comparison is swimming plus gymnastics and light ballet together in water. Student will be trained to be be flexible, fit, have a strong core and more stable. It’s a great combination of many athletic aspects to work on.

     

    Core Skills

    - Efficient Strokes

    - Timed Swimming

    - Continuous Swimming

    Requirements - to participate in this programs swimmers are required to

    Students are required to swim at a Level 6 ability or higher according to SWIMLAND's learn to swim program, or can demonstrate the ability to swim freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke competently for 25m.

    Development Pathways

    - Students will be introduced to the sport of artistic swimming, understanding the physical requirements and creativity it takes to master. Our aim is for students to achieve mobility and plasticity in the water.
     

    - As an introduction of the sport students will be able to demonstrate confidence in the skills required for artistic swimming in the water and underwater, improve their endurance and breath retention, and understand the dynamics surrounding buoyancy.
