Our international team of teachers and coaches are trained in “the SWIMLAND way” which is our own swim program that outlines the specific steps that students will take in their swimming progression.
The team, like SWIMLAND, are passionate about swimming and aquatic safety and are dedicated to imparting this knowledge in a fun and engaging way to students.
Matt - Founder

Being born on the Gold Coast, Australia, Matt was involved in swimming, surf lifesaving, and football from a young age. He first received AUSTSWIM qualification in 2008 and in 2020 completed the AUSTSWIM Presenter qualification, allowing him to teach future Austswim Teachers. His first move overseas was to Shanghai, working as a swimming and sports teacher, since 2011. Matt has remained in the swimming and sports education industry in China ever since. With extensive experience teaching and coaching all levels of swimming, including learn to swim through to competitive school swim teams, he is contantly looking how to further improve swimming programs.
The development of his mandarin language skills has allowed him to open the lines of communication, to better understand the unique needs of swimming in China. His aim is to provide students and families with a greater understanding of the possible pathways swimming and sport can provide.

Teacher James hails originally from Australia where his experience and passion for swimming began very early in life. James has earned several coveted specialized accreditations from the Australia's swimming and water safety authority AUSTSWIM and has been an AUSTSWIM qualified coach since 2008. Likewise James has also proudly earned an accredited lifeguard qualification under the esteemed Royal Life Saving Society of Australia.
Teacher James first developed his rich teaching experience through coaching within variety of professional aquatic teaching facilities in Australia. James has developed a passionate interest in developing strong water safety skills and awareness among his students and strives to develop these critical abilities in an inviting recreational class setting.
Teacher James has resided in China since early 2016, and now works as a proud SWIMLAND游泳中心 team member to share his love and knowledge of aquatics, and is a strong contributor to the company's mission of developing water safety and swimming skills among our student with his open and engaging attitude.

Teacher Ilya is originally from Russia and had been involved in many different kinds of sport from the age of 5 years old. His passion has led him through a wide variety of disciplines – swimming, skiing, football, basketball and cycling to name a few. But from the young age of 6, Ilya has dedicated his attention to swimming. Throughout his swimming career, Ilya has achieved many different successes and at the age of 17 he was awarded the qualification of Candidate for Master of Sport in swimming. After the end of his swimming competitions, Ilya decided to continue with sports, but embark on encouraging participation in sports and to educate how a active lifestyle is enjoyable for all ages. He also is keen to share his knowledge and experience he has gained over the years.
Throughout his sports career, Ilya embarked on providing professional qualifications, getting qualified from the American Swimming Teacher Association (ASCA) with Level 1 Foundations of Teacher and Level 2 Stroke School as well as international first aid courses in First Aid Certification in accordance with the European Red Cross and Red Crescent Standards. This helps Ilya to provide a very solid foundation to his coaching knowledge with his experience he gained while competing.
Ilya has been working as a Teacher since 2016. Ilya pays great attention to safety of children in water and considers its main goal to introduce children to a new environment for them and at the same time to develop in them a sense of safety in the water, making their activities fascinating and fun.
Goncalo Teacher

Teacher Goncalo originally hails from Portugal. The foundation of training and dedication to the swimming and all sports began at the age of 5. Goncalo's passion for sport eventually lead him to his later academic and professional pursuits in sports including a master's degree in physical education. He has also completed specific qualifcation for swimming in portugal, as well as the Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certificate. He has experience teaching and coaching a wide range of swimming abilities, with both international and Chinese students. Goncalo in his free time enjoys playing football, running, and strength and fitness training. Goncalo's wealth of knowledge and well rounded coaching experience has helped him to develop a fun, responsive and adaptable approach to teaching, to best develop students' engagement and interest in sporting lifestyle activities.
Momo Teacher

Teacher MoMo started her swimming education and training at the age of 7.By age eleven Momo had begun training and competing with a competitive swim team where she specialized in backstroke competition. She competed in a variety of state-level competitions where she excelled in achieving a collection of awards, medals, and podium positions. Momo as playing a key role in developing many of her strong positive character attributes of patience, maturity, self self awareness attributes her early rigorous training experience . Coach Momo's ...She likes listen music and watch movies, and also students feel her appetency. In addition to Momo's joy of swimming, Momo feels a special sense of joy and motivation in the teaching and sharing with her students.
Teacher MoMo became a swimming coach since 2012 and has 10 years work experience. Swimming is a life skill to protect yourself, but also make children stronger of their body and mind. Children develop themselves through competition and encourage of sports. She and her aim for every student she teaches is to enjoy and have fun being in the water by her patience and experience.
Joyce - Teacher

Joyce has been learning swimming since she was 6 years old. She has received systematic professional swimming training and is a national second-level athlete. She graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University and once served as the president of the Swimming Association of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Not only has Mr. Joyce has been teaching swimming teaching for more than 10 years, and she has taught swimming in international schools and has led the teams to participate swimming competitions in the school many times. Joyce gives love and patience with all ages children at work. She hopes that every students can great experiences and memories in their learning journey.
Leo Teacher

Leo has developed a deep relationship with swimming since he was a child. Swimming not only enables him to develop the spirit of perseverance, but he also hopes to pass on the experience accumulated during his 12 years of swimming career to every student who loves swimming. Leo has also participated and won many awards in many swimming competition, such as the 13th Shanghai Sports Meeting, Puyou Cup, Shanghai Sports League and so on.

Teacher Forrest comes from China and has deeply interest in all kinds of sports,deem the best way to be happiness and fitness is doing sports.When he was a kid,been training 5 years on swimming and he still love swim as a hobby for relax.He also been training for basketball in his hometown team,makes he realized that basketball is a teamwork game,and he was the captain of his college team.
As a Chinese teacher,graduate from English major is convenien for learn more and better understanding at international sports idea,and to be a Austswim teacher.His lifeguard experience and camp working experience,makes he become a reliable teacher.He is aim to a good teacher,not only a nice coach.He understands that children have both similarities and differences,and want to using gentle and positive attitude,to build a goom relationship with each child.
